It occurs to me that with volunteering, harassing phone calls, a wine weekend trip and all the other things going on in our life, I never blogged about the Prince and my new family member, Boo. She’s 10 or 11 years old and quite wonderful. We rescued Boo from the shelter after eight long months of being locked up by her lonesome and I’m pretty sure she loves us for it. Boo is a Queensland Heeler/ Australian Cattle Dog/ Blue Heeler. So far as I can tell, those are the same breed (or close enough).
This morning on our way home from wine tasting Prince Charming’s father played us the song below and I finally appreciated our dog’s name. Now I kind of love it.

This story may not be as exciting as Swine Flu H1N1 Virus, but it’s pretty crazy. Basically, this morning I started getting phone calls from a restricted number, when I answered the third consecutive call after whoever it was obviously didn’t want to leave a message, the plot began. The woman asked how I know Anthony. I asked who she was, and she refused to say but insisted I tell her how I know Anthony. Well, I know many Anthonys. Two are my cousins, I’m sure I’ve worked with some and even have known some during school. But not in my recent memory have I been in contact with any of them. When she told me I was a “whore” I hung up. Then of course, she kept calling.
I answered another call to tell her I didn’t know what she was talking about, and maybe if she told me Anthony’s last name, I could help her. She just asked how I know Anthony and Chris. Now, if I had to pick the top 15 Anglo-Saxon, typical American names, those two names would probably be right at the top of my list. So no, I couldn’t figure out who those people were, and I hung up rather enraged. Then I turned off my phone, when I turned it on over an hour later, this was the voicemail message:

This morning the Prince and I volunteered with my Roteract Club (basically Rotary for young folks) at a Polynesian Festival. When we were watching the hula dancers, they called for audience participation and pulled men up to the front and danced with them. Prince Charming was singled out and stayed in the back while the others danced with the men. After the men were sent back into the audience, this happened:
My prince and his good looks… :0)

Some folks were able to “follow” the Prince and I while we drove cross country last fall because I was able to post via mobile phone to my blog. Unfortunately when I recently tried sending a post to my blog I got a text message saying that my service is no longer supported. Boo Verizon wireless.
Luckily, I can still post to Twitter– which I only recently signed up for– so I’ve been trying to do that. My Twitter account can be found at twitter.com/alannaface. It’s neat to see who follows me and also see what’s going on with friends, but it’s like watching what people have to say on Facebook. Too many things going on! Between Facebook, Twitter, Blogspot (where you are currently reading this) and all my other social networking sites, it’s a little hard to keep everything updated. I’m glad I’m not always required to professionally network.
Because I just signed up for Twitter, I only recently synced it up with Facebook. I follow Gavin Newsom on Twitter, and when his posts popped up on Facebook, look what happened to his picture:
Nice hairline, Newsom. Thought that was kind of funny.
Short post today, but I’m a little discombobulated from cold medicine and am struggling to make sense. Check out my Twitter for more updates, and add my blog to your RSS feed!
