April 21st I was lucky enough to join the Hirson family for a very special dinner at Chez Panisse in Berkeley for Danny’s birthday. Our party of 6 had a fabulous dinner at one of the top restaurants in the nation, I believe.
An aperitif was followed by roasted tai snapper with celery root then spring vegetable ragout with morel mushrooms. The main course is pictured at left thanks to Danny’s brother, Greg: Grilled rack, loin and shoulder of Watson Ranch lamb with roasted potatoes, spring onions and garden lettuces. To top it off, bittersweet chocolate and strawberry gelato cassatta.
To die for.
