A few weekends ago at the Filoli Garden Show I spotted this unique plant. The flowers look like little cushions or puffs. My mom got me the last plant for sale, a bedraggled looking thing with two broken limbs. He then sat on our front porch for  two weeks in the original container before I finally replanted him in a bright blue pot I had previously growing greens. Now every morning as I go out to my front patio I am greeted with very bright yellow flowers against a blue backdrop.

Have you ever seen or heard of these flowers before? The Latin name is “Calceolaria tomentosa” though the leaves I see on the plants shown online don’t quite look the same as the ones on my plant.
